Welcome to UMMTS.co.uk!

The Musical Theatre Society is a brand new society formed by its Chair and Secretary, Sophie Day and Scott Stait. As a society we are passionate about both contemporary cutting edge and classic musical theatre. We aim to provide a platform for people who are enthusiastic about this art form. This season we are bringing you no less than six incredible shows, some of which you may know, and some you definitely will not.

The season kicks off with Back to Broadway, a revue show platforming the society’s ability to show a breadth of musical styles. Our Winter show, RENT, follows this and is set to be a groundbreaking production taking place in an underground club. The new year brings a multitude of new musicals, the first of which is Adam Gwon’s Ordinary Days, which will be the first amateur production in the UK of this American musical. In collaboration with the Royal Northern College of Music, UMMTS is bringing you a brand new musical by composer Leah Fogo, Perception. The society is incredibly privileged to be hosting this world premiere, and are excited about bringing new works forward in the future. Next we are bringing you Broadway and West End hit Spring Awakening, a joint collaboration between FuseTV and RAG which is set to shake up the boundaries of morality. Our Summer Musical is still to be announced, so stay tuned for the latest news!
